I’m not sure if this is a first in NFL history, but you’d think it would have to be. I mean, when’s the last time you remember seeing not one, not two, but THREE different sets of brothers playing against each other at the NFL level…IN ONE GAME!
Viewers of today’s Chicago Bears-Detroit Lions game will witness just that, as these two NFL North rivals share three sets of brothers.
Perhaps the most well-known of the bunch is the wide receiver pairing of the Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Bears’ Equanimeous St. Brown, who also have their own podcast together.
Then there’s Lions stud offensive tackle Penei Sewell and Bears linebacker Noah Sewell (who isn’t playing due to a knee injury, but should be in attendance to watch his team take on his bro at Ford Field).
And lastly, we have defensive ends Romeo and Julian Okwara, who play for the Lions and Bears, respectively.
What’s especially cool about this is that these two teams play in the same division, which means the brothers will be squaring off once more this season after today’s game.

At the moment, it’s Amon-Ra, Penei and Romeo who have the upper hand, as their Lions sit atop the NFC North with a 7-2 record, while the Bears are last in the division at 3-7. We can only assume that the Bears’ brothers would love to get the win today and earn some bragging rights for at least the next few weeks.
