Back in 2020, Brian Urlacher received a ton of criticism for visiting President Trump in the White House as well as sending out various messages supportive of Trump on social media. It appears the former Chicago Bears star had a plan in place for this very week.
Less than 12 hours remaining in his presidency, Trump’s White House announced that Casey Urlacher, Brian’s brother, has received a presidential pardon.
“President Trump granted a full pardon to Casey Urlacher,” the White House said in a statement. “This pardon is supported by his friends and family, and countless members of his community. Mr. Urlacher has been charged with conspiracy to engage in illegal gambling.”
“Throughout his life, Mr. Urlacher has been committed to public service and has consistently given back to his community,” the White House wrote in its announcement. It also called Casey Urlacher “a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his 17-month-old daughter.”
A 28-page federal indictment handed down last February alleged Urlacher tracked down gambling debts while helping DelGiudice, the lead defendent in the case, run a multimillion-dollar illegal gambling operation involving as many as 1,000 sports gamblers.
