The Manningcast curse went undefeated during the 2021 season. And, while being undefeated is usually a good thing, in this case it is not.
A total of seven active NFL players had appeared on the Manningcast on “Monday Night Football” throughout the course of the 2021 season; and all of them have gone on to lose the following week.
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was the last player to show his face on the ESPN broadcast that features Peyton and Eli Manning giving their own commentary during the Monday night contest. And, wouldn’t you know it, one week later the Packers went out and lost their season finale to the Detroit Lions to complete the curse’s perfect record this season.
It should be noted that Aaron Rodgers was pulled early from the game as the team was playing for nothing. You’d have to think that, had he played the entire contest, his Packers would have cruised to the victory over their NFC North foes. But none of that matters. All that matters here is the curse came through once again.
We’ll have to wait until next season to see if this curse can finally be broken.
