The Cleveland Browns got smacked about online after wishing their starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, a happy birthday on Saturday.
Watson is under the spotlight again as he has been named in yet another lawsuit, with a Jane Doe attempting to take him to task over claims of sexual abuse alleged to have taken place in 2020.
Watson isn’t facing criminal charges, but this is obviously not a good look for him, especially since he’s had to settle multiple suits in the past.
The QB turned 29 this Saturday, so the Browns opted to send him birthday greetings on social media, though they may be regretting it by now.
The team should have known that the comments wouldn’t be overwhelmingly positive, considering the current state of affairs. But they still went ahead with it.
“Ain’t no way…” someone commented.

“*sighs* Straight to the comments,” someone else wrote.
“You still have time to delete this post,” a fan advised.
“Lmao no way you posted this,” another said.
“The replies will be totally normal I’m sure,” another comment read.
“The greatest gift for the fans would be to get out of his contract,” a fan declared.
“Wishing a predator happy birthday is definitely something…” a user added.
“Happy birthday to the guy who ruined your franchise,” said another.
Deshaun Watson’s Lawyer Has Responded To Latest Allegations
Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, has denied the most recent allegations in a statement made earlier this week.
The attorney noted that the player will remain focused on his football, but his legal team intends to fight the accusations in court.
“Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday. We have asked him not to comment further while this matter works its way through the courts, but are comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated,” Hardin wrote.
Watson went 24/45 for 165 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in Cleveland’s season-opening loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. The Browns are scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow.
