The NFL trade deadline has been a busier than usual time in recent years. In 2023, names like Joshua Dobbs, Chase Claypool, and Cam Akers were moved to teams in need on offense. While Leonard Willimas, Kevin Byard, and Randy Gregory were acquired to add to their new defenses.
But it was moves made by the Washington Commanders that stand out the most. The Commanders traded away Chase Young and Montez Sweat, a pair of star defensive ends. Moves such as this are an indication of the rebuilding process.
As usual, internet speculation led to rumors of big names being moved at the deadline, only for those players to stay put on their current teams. But that doesn’t mean they will be back in the same uniform in 2024, as the offseason could see those players dealt away.
NAJEE HARRIS
Eligible for a contract extension, Najee Harris remains a promising young NFL running back. Harris’ tough running style works well for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but what they decide to do this offseason remains to be seen.
With a player like Jaylen Warren waiting to be a lead running back, the Steelers could move Harris for draft picks. As a bulldozing type of player, teams in need of a power running red zone option should at least test the waters and inquire about Harris this offseason.
AARON JONES

Always an exciting ball carrier, Aaron Jones should get some trade talk attention during the 2024 offseason. The Green Bay Packers are in a transitioning phase, so moving Jones for draft capital would not be much of a surprise.
Jones would a strong fit in most offensive schemes, so the options plentiful. At this point, it comes down to the Packers’ front office and how they view Jones moving forward. They either keep the star they have or try to obtain new players for their new-look franchise.
KYLE PITTS
The Atlanta Falcons are working on their rebuild. The likes of Bijan Robinson and Drake London have provided the team with hope for their future. Desmond Ridder has flashed potential, but after being benched, a question mark remains at the quarterback position.
With Kyle Pitts at tight end, the Falcons have a big player with big play ability. But with Pitts entering the final year of his rookie contract, the Falcons need to decide if they’re going to spend money him. Listening to trade offers in the offseason could help with that decision.
KEENAN ALLEN
The Los Angeles Chargers continue to push toward improving their standing in the AFC West. The twice-a-season Justin Herbert versus Patrick Mahomes matchup has proven to be one of the more entertaining battles in all of football.
With Herbert at the helm, the Chargers will remain a pass-heavy team for years to come. But they might start making moves at the receiver position. And that could include taking offers for Keenan Allen, who still performs at a high level, but could get traded in favor of youth.
JERRY JEUDY
There are two ways to deal with a disgruntled player: settle him down and have him work within the system or part ways. For the Denver Broncos, this is where they stand with Jerry Jeudy, a young wide receiver who has been frustrated with his role in the offense.
During the 2024 NFL offseason, the Broncos will have a chance to settle up with Jeudy, one way or another. With potential on his side, Jeudy is sure to garner attention from team’s looking for another option at wide receiver.
CHRIS GODWIN
Life after Tom Brady is an adjustment, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in the process of figuring out where their franchise goes next. Baker Mayfield is a tough quarterback, but the Buccaneers might have eyes on the 2024 NFL Draft.
This could lead to current stars leaving the team, such as Chris Godwin. With a lot let to offer, Godwin could be one of the best second options in the league. Any team looking for a strong presence behind their number one receiver should inquire about a trade.
ALVIN KAMARA
After serving a suspension to begin the 2023 NFL season, Alvin Kamara rejoined the New Orleans Saints and reclaimed his rightful spot as the team’s lead running back. But things are changing for the Saints, and that could include moving Kamara.
It will be interesting to see if Kamara remains with the squad as the Derek Car ear continues, but with draft capital being such a precious commodity, the Saints should listen to all offers that come their way during the offseason.
STEFON DIGGS
As one of the NFL’s premier wide receivers, Stefon Diggs would be a welcomed addition to any roster. Having worked out a contract with the Buffalo Bills and being one of the beloved members of their franchise, it would take a lot to trade for Diggs.
But testing the market doesn’t hurt. Diggs is an instant fit anywhere. And while Josh Allen’s favorite target might be hard to take away from him, that doesn’t mean Diggs won’t be a trade target in 2024. The rumors around Diggs should heat up soon.
DERRICK HENRY
Once an NFL running back is north of thirty, his ages tends to tamper his value. But with Derrick Henry, there remains a lot of upside. Henry would be a red zone threat anywhere he goes, so it would made sense to see teams pursue him in the 2024 offseason.
There might be questions about his lead back status this season, but by no means is Henry a second option. Even in a split back situation, Henry is a player many teams would love to have. This offseason, the Tennessee Titans will entertain offers.
DAVANTE ADAMS
When the Green Bay Packers dealt Davante Adams to the Lav Vegas Raiders, it signified the start of a franchise shift for both teams. Adams has been one of the league’s best wide receivers for years, and there’s no reason to believe he will slow down next season.
The Raiders are another team trying to put all the pieces together, and Adams is a hug piece of that process. Adams might not go anywhere, but teams will still try. Adding a player of that caliber to a team elevates the offense to a new level.
