So much stuff has happened this year, we sort of forget about the huge news of linebacker Barkevious Mingo being arrested in Texas on a charge of indecency with a child-sexual contact.
Back in July, the Atlanta Falcons wasted no time in releasing him after he was arrested on the second-degree felony charge, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison under Texas state law.
Months later, a Texas Grand jury made their decision on the case.
“The Texas Grand Jury hearing the charge of indecency with a child alleged against former NFL LB Barkevious Mingo returned a “no bill,” according to his lawyer Chris Lewis. The case will not move forward, as the Grand Jury found there was no probable cause.”
Mingo’s attorney, Lukas Garcia, called the allegations “completely baseless” in a statement given back in July.

“At this stage, our side has very limited information,” Garcia said. “What we do know is these allegations are from over two years ago and are completely untrue. Mr. Mingo is the victim of a false claim, and we believe this is motivated by money or some other ulterior motive.”
Mingo signed a one-year contract with the Falcons in March. He is just 31-years-old, so it remains to be seen if and NFL team will give him another chance in the league.
He’s recorded 255 total tackles, 17 passes defended, 12.5 sacks and five forced fumbles in 126 regular-season appearances.
