Deshaun Watson may want to be traded, but that does not mean the Houston Texans have to listen.
For the past few weeks, Watson has been photoshopped in the jersey of just about every team in the NFL as his relationship with the front office continues to deteriorate. The Watson news is so big that it has completely taken over the news cycle as we are just days away from the Chiefs taking on the Bucs in the Super Bowl.
Teams have reportedly been reaching out to see what the team would be asking for in return in a trade, but they have been met with something completely different.
Via Bleacher Report:
“According to two high-level executives from different teams in the quarterback market, Texans brass have told interested teams that they will not be having any conversations about trading Watson.
“We’ve been told ‘no’ from them directly,” one of the executives said.
Interested teams are putting plans together, he continued. “But I don’t think the Texans are listening.”
The second executive said he isn’t sure what to make of Houston not wanting to talk about a Watson trade. There’s new leadership in town, but the organization has been such a mess.
“It’s Houston right now,” he said. “They don’t have any rhyme or reason on what they have done over the last year-and-a-half.”
League sources also told Bleacher Report that any deal for the disgruntled QB “would start at three first-round picks and would have to include a young quarterback.”
Watson has scrubbed his social media accounts of anything Texans related as he tries to push his way off the team, but the team looks to be playing hard ball and plan on calling his bluff to see if he takes things to another level as the new season approaches.

“I don’t know what Watson’s leverage is,” the first executive said. “Yeah, he can choose who they can’t trade him to, but what is he going to do if they don’t trade him? Sit out?”
