Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud did not hold back on the referees after his team exited the NFL playoffs on Saturday.
The Texans lost 23-14 to the Kansas City Chiefs on the night as they watched their QB take multiple hits due to a leaky O-line. But many felt like the refs were the most to blame after several questionable calls.
Stroud was among the Houston players who had something to say about the officiating after the game, suggesting that the calls would always favor the Chiefs at home because that’s just how it is.
“I’m not gonna go back and forth about what I thought was a call or what I thought wasn’t a call,” he told reporters. “It’s one of those things you kinda know what’s up before you walk into their arena.”
Does CJ Stroud Have A Bone To Dig?
As mentioned above, some curious calls were made during the contest.
Will Anderson Jr. got hit with a roughing the passer penalty on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, which many felt was tame. Kansas City was also thought to have gotten away with a number of holding infractions.

Stroud obviously feels that the referees hurt his team’s chances of progressing, but his biggest gripe should be with his offensive line, which allowed the Chiefs’ pass rush to repeatedly get to him.
