Brandin Cooks made his voice very clear on how disappointed he was to not be off the roster of the Houston Texans. It looks like it had a lot to do with what the Texans wanted for him.
The team is currently playing the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night football, but Cooks isn’t playing for personal reasons. Cooks was the subject of trade speculation all the way up until the 4 p.m. deadline this week, but no move materialized.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, one of the reasons he is still on the roaster is because the Texans’ asking price was so high.
To get Cooks off their hands, the Texans reportedly wanted a second-round pick and a fourth-round pick as well as a team taking on his $18 million salary for the 2023 season.
After the deadline passed, Cooks posted a cryptic tweet suggesting his frustration with his situation.

Adam Schefter also reported Cooks had hoped to be traded to a playoff contender after several teams were reportedly interested in the wideout. You can understand his frustration where he thought he would finally be competing for something, only to come back to a terrible football team.
The Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys were among those interested in a trade.
Cooks leads the Texans in receptions, targets, and receiving yards this season.
