The Houston Texans are trying their best to unload Jadeveon Clowney to the point that they have been in contact with at least five different teams, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
The report states while the Texans have given the Dolphins permission to speak with Clowney, the DE is heavily reluctant to play for a team that he doesn’t view as a contender to play for Super Bowl.
According to Wilson, the Texans have also reached out to Clowney’s preferred teams that include the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles to gauge their interest in a potential trade.
Aside from those teams, the Texans have also reached out to the Washington Redskins and New York Jets.
Wilson described the Redskins, however, as a “no-go” at this time.
The former No. 1 overall pick of the Texans back in 2014 appeared in 15 games for the Texans and recorded 47 tackles, 9 sacks, a forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, one defensive touchdown and a pass defense during the 2018 season.
