Bill O’Brien had the makings of being a genius and delivering the biggest win of his coaching career….then he remembered he was Bill O’Brien.
Two decisions by O’Brien seemed to lead to disaster for Houston, which coughed up a 24-0 lead and headed into halftime down 28-24.
The first one was a 4th and 1 from the Chiefs’ 13 yard line while leading 21-0, and his decision to kick a field goal with all the momentum instead of going for it.
O’Brien rolled the dice and called for a fake punt on 4th and 5 from his own 31 yard line later in the second quarter and the Chiefs would go on to score a touchdown and keep their momentum going that wouldn’t stop for 41-straight points.
Following the game, a Texans fan put O’Brien on craigslist for sale or trade.
The Texans now head into the offseason with the fan base calling for O’Brien to be fired once again.
