Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be one of the most sought-after free agent Quarterbacks this offseason.
Garoppolo will have a new home in 2023 after he shockingly re-signed with the 49ers last offseason. The only question left to answer is where the veteran will end up.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons are “natural fits” for Garoppolo.
Fowler thinks Jimmy G could be a bridge QB for the Texans as they get set to select a big-time college QB during April’s draft. Meanwhile, Fowler says the Falcons could be an attractive option for Garoppolo, citing Arthur Smith’s system in Atlanta, similar to Kyle Shanahan’s in San Francisco, as the main reason.
“Garoppolo’s going to be costly,” Fowler said. “He wants a contract to measure with his skill set and ability.”
Houston is picking at the top of the draft and if they would rather not put a rookie QB in the starter’s position right now, they could sign Jimmy G. Houston has $37 million in cap space, so they can afford any contract demands Garoppolo has.

The 49ers are rooting for Jimmy to sign a lucrative contract. The bigger the deal, the higher the comp pick in next year’s draft.
In 11 appearances and 10 starts in 2022, Jimmy Garoppolo completed 67.2 percent of his pass attempts for 2,437 yards, and 16 touchdowns.
