The Chicago Bears are expected to come out of this draft as huge winners no matter what they decide to do . The best thing to happen, however, is that multiple teams start calling them to see how much it would take for them to get that No. 1 overall draft pick.
ESPN’s Todd McShay reported that the Houston Texans are planning to pursue the No. 1 selection aggressively in competition with the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans, who have the No. 2 draft pick, only had to lose their final game of the year and they wouldn’t be in this position.
The Colts have the No. 4 pick. Both are interested in drafting a franchise quarterback this April.
“Every team that needs a quarterback wants to get to that No. 1 spot,” McShay said on ESPN First Draft. “I don’t think [the Texans] will sit at two. I think they’ll do everything they can [to move up], and the Colts are going to be the driving reason.”
A bidding war can only drive the price of the pick up, which means a nice package for the Bears in return. The team is unlikely to take a quarterback as they still believe in Justin Fields, so why not have multiple teams fight over the coveted pick.
Bryce Young out of Alabama and C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State are expected to be the top two QB’s taken off the board. Furthermore, neither the Texans nor the Colts know which quarterback the other values as the best prospect in this draft class.
If the Bears wanted to, they could garner as many as four draft choices from the Texans or the Colts for moving down between just one and three spots in the first round, per Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report.

The Texans traded former franchise QB Deshaun Watson to the Browns after he demanded out and as well as his sexual misconduct allegations. The Colts have been desperately trying to replace Andrew Luck since he suddenly retired years ago.
Things are expected to get rather juicy as we move closer to the draft.
