Darren Sharper may be one of the greatest defensive players in the history of the NFL, but he has essentially been cast out of the brotherhood after his behavior off the field led to a lengthy prison sentence.
The former NFL player, who is currently serving a 20-year-prison sentence in charges resulting from a multiple-state rape case, is being talked about on social media this week after a Green Bay Packers fan decided to wear his jersey to training camp.
Is he allowed to wear that jersey? Of course. Is it in poor taste? You can look at that woman’s face above to figure that out.
Earlier this year, Sharper settled lawsuits with three women who accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Two women said they were drugged and sexually assaulted by Sharper in West Hollywood, and one the next night in Las Vegas. The lawsuits were filed in 2015.
In 2016, Sharper was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty or no contest to drugging and raping as many as 16 women across four states — California, Nevada, Louisiana, and Arizona.
He had a 14-year career in the NFL as a safety for the Packers, Vikings, and Saints.
