Outside linebacker David Ojabo thought about switching to his college number but will stick with 90, because he basically has no choice.
The Ravens second-year linebacker tried to get his college number, but Terrell Suggs isn’t having it.
Ojabo might be in his second year, but a torn ACL injury suffered during his Pro Day prevented the 23-year-old from touching the field much last year. Now that he is healthy, he was hoping to wear a number that was near and dear to him.
Suggs sported the number 55 during his legendary 15-year career with the Ravens, the team that drafted Suggs 10th overall in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
He is not willing to let this young player wear his number.
“Suggs (is) not letting me man,” Ojabo said smiling. “We had discussions, man, got (Ravens Owner Steve) Bisciotti involved a little bit. That’s above me.”
“He’s a legend, so I’ll stick with 90. I tried. I had to try, but he’s not going for it.”
