The Carolina Panthers have reportedly granted one of their top receivers permission to seek a trade ahead of the deadline.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Terrace Marshall Jr. could be on his way out after appearing in all six games for the Panthers this season. Marshall has made a total of 16 receptions on 27 targets for 114 yards over the past six weeks of action.
He played 63 percent of the snaps in Week 4, making nine catches for 56 yards on 10 targets in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings. However, he did not play a single snap against the Detroit Lions in Week 5, despite being active.
“I have no clue why I didn’t play,” he said after the game. “It was surprising. I didn’t expect to sit out the whole game. It just happened.”
“He should’ve played. He should’ve played some,” head coach Frank Reich said the following day. “I wish he had gotten in there a little bit more. That’s my fault. I need to make sure, after the week he had the week before with the nine catches and got a little momentum going, that he and I had a conversation.”
The wideout was involved in just 22 snaps during Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins and only saw three targets as he was unsuccessful in making a catch.

Fowler adds that the Panthers have discussed the recent development with the player’s agent and are willing to let him leave in search of more playing time, though he would be welcome back if nothing materializes.
