The Tennessee Titans have waived a veteran offensive lineman after his involvement in multiple practice fights.
Per Jim Wyatt of the Titans’ official website, offensive lineman Jamarco Jones was involved in an incident during practice on Thursday that almost started “a brawl” between players. This came two days after he “was involved in a skirmish with” star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.
Nick Suss of The Tennessean reported that Thursday’s incident involved a “blindside block” on linebacker Chance Campbell. Head coach Mike Vrabel voiced unhappiness with Jones’ block.
“You don’t want to practice like that,” Vrabel said. “It would be a penalty in the game.”
The Seattle Seahawks drafted Jones in the fifth round (168th overall) back in 2018. The Ohio State product remained a member of Seattle’s roster for four seasons before joining the Titans in 2022 free agency.
Jones didn’t play a game for the Titans last year due to injury. He played in 36 games with the Seahawks and made seven total starts.

Tennessee used its first-round pick on (11th overall) on Northwestern standout offensive lineman Peter Skoronski, following their decision to release veteran stalwart Taylor Lewan in a cap-saving move.
Barring a change of plans, the Titans’ starting o-line in 2023 will likely consist of Skoronski, Aaron Brewer, Jordan Ross, Nicholas Petit-Frere and Andre Dillard. Coming off their first losing season since 2015, the Titans will open their 2023 season with a road game against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 10.
