The Tennessee Titans have reportedly gotten “at least one” trade offer for star running back Derrick Henry.
According to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Titans informed their star offensive player that they’re not “shopping him” ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. One unnamed team sent the Titans an offer for the 29-year-old, though the AFC South club has apparently set a high asking price for him:
“The Titans told Derrick Henry this week they aren’t shopping him, but Tennessee has received at least one offer for the two-time NFL rushing champion and will continue to listen to offers for most players on their roster — including Henry — up to Tuesday’s trade deadline, per sources.
While only a few players are off-limits for Tennessee and Henry is on an expiring contract, the Titans have a high price tag on their veteran star running back, who is expected to play today against the Falcons.
Often, a mid-round pick gets it done for a star player with an above-minimum contract traded midseason. Sources have said the Titans are asking for more — an indication of how much they value Henry, 29, and what it would take to part with him at a time they’re still alive in the AFC playoff chase at 2-4.
The Titans entered Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons with a 2-4 record. Mike Vrabel’s group hasn’t looked anything like a playoff contender this season, and GM Ran Carthon seemingly concurred with that idea when he traded All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill, like Henry, is in the final year of his contract. All-Pro wideout DeAndre Hopkins has also been mentioned in trade rumors, though his strong outing against Atlanta may prompt the Titans to hold onto him.
Entering Sunday’s contest, the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year and two-time rushing champion had 425 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Henry is on pace to easily surpass 1,000 yards rushing for the fifth time in his career.

Henry isn’t the only notable running back who’s been frequently mentioned in trade deadline rumors. Josh Jacobs (Las Vegas Raiders) and Saquon Barkley (New York Giants) are also on expiring contracts and could be moved with their respective teams out of playoff contention as well.
