We now have conflicting reports with information regarding Derrick Henry.
The Tennessee Titans are not shopping running back Derrick Henry, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports. General manager Ran Carthon is expected to be “methodical” in his approach to team building in his first offseason with the Titans, per Jones.
Michael Silver of Bally Sports listed Henry among players that were shopped during the scouting combine. He also had Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins as being listed as potential trade pieces this offseason.
If the Titans, who have unloaded a number of players this offseason, were to trade Henry, it would set off their plan to start rebuilding.
It would make sense to trade Henry, who has a $16.4 million cap hit next season, which is the second-highest among running backs. The team can save $6.3 million against the cap with a trade, per Spotrac.
After going 7-10 last year, the organization let go of veterans Taylor Lewan and Robert Woods to save cap space.
