The Tennessee Titans are taking plenty of heat online following an absurd uniform decision ahead of Sunday’s crucial AFC South divisional clash against the Houston Texans.
A whole lot will be on the line in this game, with both teams harboring playoff hopes. And Texans fans will be hoping for the return of rookie sensation C.J. Stroud, who remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol after hitting his head during their recent loss to the New York Jets.
The Titans are clearly in no mood to feel sympathetic and are looking to go for the jugular here as they have chosen to wear their Houston Oilers throwback uniforms for the game.
This is significant as the Oilers moved from Houston to Tennessee in the 90s and the Texas-based city was without a football team until 2002, when the Texans joined the league. It’s easy to see how something like this would rile Houston fans up.
“Every year when the Texans and Titans play the winner should be able to wear the uniforms the next time they meet,” former Titans lineman Taylor Lewan shared on X following the news.

Will this come back to bite them? Would be very embarrassing if so.
