The Dallas Cowboys (3-1) look like one of the premier Super Bowl favorites heading into Sunday night’s highly-anticipated Week 5 clash with the San Francisco 49ers.
That said, the Cowboys already feel like a team that’s still another major piece away from being a championship-level team. While CeeDee Lamb (23 catches for 309 yards and a touchdown) is having a big year, he’s the only Dallas pass-catcher that’s on pace to surpass 800 yards receiving.
Dallas could use a bonafide No. 2 receiver to help Lamb, Tony Pollard and Dak Prescott. And if a certain team over in the AFC continues to struggle, the Cowboys should place a phone call and see if a deal can be had.
The Cincinnati Bengals are 1-3 heading into Week 5 and look nothing like a playoff contender. If they’re out of the playoff race leading up to the Oct. 31 deadline, it only makes sense to deal wide receiver Tee Higgins rather than potentially lose him for nothing in 2024 free agency.
Dallas could offer the Bengals wide receiver Michael Gallup and a 2024 third-round pick for the fourth-year wideout who’s coming off a second straight 1,000-yard campaign.

Higgins would be the ideal complement to Lamb and would bolter the Cowboys’ already-potent offense. It’s also a big win for the Bengals, who would get a valuable early-round pick and a potential WR2 in Gallup, who’s now four years removed from his lone 1,000-yard season.
And maybe Gallup, who’s signed through 2026, just might manage to regain his star-like form in a Joe Burrow-led offense that is more tailored for his style of play.
