Tedy Bruschi is like many other defensive players this week after hearing what Tom Brady said about defensive players: Very upset.
Brady joined Peyton and Eli Manning during ESPN’s secondary Monday Night Football broadcast for the Saints-Seahawks game and the Bucs QB took some time to roast all defensive players that have ever played football.
“And the defense, would you give them any credit for being smart enough to figure that out, the jumping? Now, I wouldn’t, believe me,” Brady said after Saints quarterback Jameis Winston got a defender to jump after pump-faking past the line of scrimmage. “Have you ever been in some of those defensive meeting rooms? I mean, you wonder why they play defense and (then) after about two minutes you go, ‘Yup, they can never be an offensive player.’
“Defense is kind of like a dog chasing a car — just get the guy with the ball.”
ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi, a former linebacker and Brady’s teammate during the early years of the Patriots’ dynasty, made his feelings known on Twitter by denouncing their friendship….clearly in a joking matter.

Brady did go onto praise his defensive teammates on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Obviously we’ve got a lot of great defensive players,” Brady continued.
Brady is still outsmarting defenses 21 years after entering the NFL. The soon to be hall of fame QB is fresh off a four-touchdown performance in the Bucs’ 38-3 rout of the Bears on Sunday.
One of those TD passes was the 600th of his career.
