Aaron Rodgers has shown nothing over the past few weeks that suggests he will return to play for the Green Bay Packers this season. He is sick and tired of the team and so is Julio Jones, who made his thoughts clear on not returning to them last week.
Former NFL great Tedy Bruschi has a suggestion for the both of them: Team up and play together.
Bruschi said during Tuesday morning’s SportsCenter he believes Jones should call Rodgers to try and orchestrate a “package deal.”
“If I were him, I’d be calling Aaron Rodgers and try to make this a package deal and that’s just the way I figure it,” Bruschi said regarding Jones, via 247Sports. “The NBA has done this forming super teams. Tom Brady started it last year bringing everybody to where he came, so I would call Aaron Rodgers and find out where ya thinking kid because I want to catch the balls from you.”
“You’re talking a Top 5 player amongst all wide receivers in the league,” Bruschi said this week. “He has to think about who’s going to be throwing him the ball in terms of a quarterback. That’s the prerequisite of being a great receiver. Julio, he’s made a lot of money in his career, in my opinion this is a future Hall of Fame player and I think championships have to be on his mind — to go to a team that possibly has that shot.
The all-pro WR is soon ot be traded, it’s just a matter of when, not if.

Rodgers received a $6.8 million roster bonus in March and is set to make $22.35 million in 2021, and $25.5 million in 2022 and 2023.
“I meant what I said last year and that hasn’t changed,” Rodgers said recently on the Pat McAfee Show, referencing his unknown future with the Packers. “I loved our interactions and what this show provided. I think people got a raw look at honest conversation about the future. Someone who’s not bitter or disappointed or frustrated about things they can’t control.
“My future is one of them. I’ve kinda surrendered to what’s going to happen and I’m confident in what I bring to the table and how I played last year and I’m sure that’s put more speculation (out there).”
