The discussion over Bill Belichick being a top coach has taken quite a hit since Tom Brady departed from the franchise.
With New England unexpectedly losing to the Bears on Monday night, Bill Belichick’s biggest critics came out to play. One is former Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel. The 41-year-old, who last played in the NFL in 2013 with the Falcons, took to Twitter to call Belichick “average.”
“Belichick is starting to show you he is an average coach without [Tom] Brady,” Samuel said.
Samuel’s former Patriots teammate, Tedy Bruschi, fired back at him for this claim.
“This is absolutely ridiculous,” Bruschi replied to Samuel.

Samuel and Bruschi layed important roles on the two Super Bowl-winning teams the Patriots had from 2003 through the end of the 2007 season.
Samuel has been publicly ripping Belichick for years.
The Patriots have gone 19-21 in the three seasons since Brady left.
