Last offseason, the Carolina Panthers thought they had their franchise quarterback when they inked Teddy Bridgewater to a three-year, $63 million deal with $30 million guaranteed.
Less than a year after that signing, things have gone awry after Bridgewater’s disappointing 2020 campaign. Because of that and the rumors of Deshaun Watson wanting out of Houston and being linked to the Panthers – Teddy appears to be firing back.
Panthers fans noticed that the team’s current quarterback unfollowed the team on Instagram and set his IG to private.

The rumors of the team making a play for Watson only got bigger on Friday when the team announced they were releasing defensive end Stephen Weatherly and punter Michael Palardy. Combined with this week’s release of veteran defensive tackle Kawann Short, the Panthers have carved around $16.4 million worth of space off the cap.
Bridgewater threw for 3,733 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions for a team that went 5-11 and finished in 3rd place in the NFC South.
