In a surprise move, the Los Angeles Rams have released one of their starting offensive players.
On Tuesday, the Rams announced that they have waived veteran running back Darrell Henderson, who was in his fifth year with the team. Henderson was on the Rams’ roster that won Super Bowl 56 two seasons ago.
Rookie standout Kyren Williams has missed the Rams’ last four games recovering from an ankle injury. Now that Williams is set to return against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, the Rams ultimately decided that Henderson was expendable.
The 26-year-old Henderson started four games for the Rams this season, rushing for 112 yards and four touchdowns on 46 carries.
