It looks like the Dallas Cowboys have yet another curveball that’s being thrown their way ahead of Thursday night’s game in New Orleans.
According to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Saints are giving Taysom Hill the first team reps in practice, with all signs pointing to him starting at quarterback when the team takes on the Dallas Cowboys this Thursday. Hill has been dealing wit a foot issue, so he’ll have to get through practice and prove he can handle the workload. But barring a setback, it looks like the newly-extended utility man will be the Saints’ week 13 starter.
The Cowboys will now have to prepare for Hill, rather than Trevor Siemian. This sudden change comes just hours after the team found out they would be without Mike McCarthy after their head coach tested positive for Covid.
The Saints will look to snap a four-game losing streak, as they’ve gone 0-4 with Siemian as their starter — after losing Jameis Winston for the season with a knee injury in week 8. As for the Cowboys, they’re on a two game losing streak of their own, but they should have some reinforcements back with the expected return of Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.
