Taylor Swift fans, commonly known as “Swifties” have come together to help raise significant funds for a cat rescue group supported by Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass.
Last week, Bass received plenty of unfair blame in the Bills’ heartbreaking Divisional Round playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He missed a game-tying 44-yard attempt with less than two minutes left, and fans unreasonably pinned the loss on him. Bass proceeded to deactivate social media following the loss.
According to the ML Football X/Twitter account, Swifties have now donated close to $300,000 for Bass in the “Ten Lives Club”, a cat rescue group that Bass has partnered with.
Kimberly LaRussa, a spokesperson for Ten Lives Club, recently told TODAY that Swifties have generously donated significant amounts towards the group. As of Thursday, more than $260,000 had been donated.
LaRussa added that many fans have donated sums of $22, a nod to the No. 2 jersey number that Bass wears.
