Taylor Swift is one of, if not the most influential people in the world right now, and her Era’s Tour only proves her case as it is the hottest ticket in town wherever she takes it. The PWHL on the other hand, is on the come up.
Swift has been in the music industry since the 2000’s s she debuted as country singer, before going on to release hits such as “Shake It Off” and “Reputation” which would both help to lead her to where she is today.
The Professional Women’s Hockey League, or better known as the PWHL, is currently in it’s second season of operation. The 2024-2025 season is now the league’s first with official branding for all six of it’s soon to be historic franchises.
However, not all is sunshine and rainbows as the Toronto’s PWHL, the Sceptres, may be under fire from Swift’s legal after revealing their official logo. The team even reached out to Swift during her recent Era’s Tour stop in Toronto.
Taylor Swift And Toronto Scepters Logos May Cause Legal Battle
The Sceptres recently recently revealed their logo prior to the season, and it consists of the TS anagram, and it was notably similar to a logo used by Swift in the music video for the aforementioned hit song “Shake It Off.”

As mentioned, the Sceptres were heavily recruiting Swift and asking the pop mega star to sport one of the teams jerseys during her Toronto stop. They even went as far to reveal a custom made Jersey for Swift.
Margaret Fleming of Front Office Sports, who initially noted the similarities, was able to obtain a quote from the Sceptres. “While we welcome the comparison to Taylor, our logo started with the Sceptre symbol at its core, with the top and bottom points of an ornamented rod. From that starting point, the Toronto Sceptres logo was born,” a spokes person said.
While Swift’s legal team has yet to do anything about the situation and Swift herself has yet to say anything, the Sceptres are seemingly ready for anything that Swift may throw at them, which could spell disaster for the franchise.
