Days after the NFL Draft and it looks like Ezekiel Elliott may be finding his new team after he got released by the Dallas Cowboys.
The NFL Draft has come and gone, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster is rounding into shape. One thing that the team did not do was draft a running back, with some even speculating that Tampa Bay may do so in round one.
Tampa Bay went through all seven rounds of the draft without the selection of a single running mate or competitor for current RB1 Rachaad White. That looks to be changing soon.
ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler reported Tuesday that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers view Elliott as “an option” to fill the hole in their backfield created by the release of Leonard Fournette.
Fowler also added that Elliott could very well return to the Dallas Cowboys.
“The Bucs could be an option for him… I’m told they’re looking for [someone] behind Rachaad White. The problem could be the money… Bucs probably wouldn’t want to spend all that much but [there] could be an option there.”

Early offseason reports also indicated that Ezekiel Elliot, a former Dallas Cowboys standout running back, will require a new residence by 2023. After Tony Pollard, the team’s backup, began to perform like a starter with each subsequent game, it became evident that Elliot needed to be replaced.
Injuries and just an overall drastic fall from the dynamic running back that he used to be led to him being released.
As for White, the 2022 third-round pick showed flashes last season, with his most memorable effort being highlighted by a career-high 105 rushing yards in a win against the Seattle Seahawks and a nine-catch effort against the Cleveland Browns.
In 15 games last season, Zeke set career lows in rushing attempts (231), rushing yards (876), yards per carry (3.8), targets (23), receptions (17), and receiving yards (92), while failing to record a receiving touchdown for the first time in his seven seasons.
If he never plays another down for the team, he leaves as the franchise’s third-leading rusher at 8,262 yards and ranked third in rushing touchdowns (68) as well.
