Bruce Arians had already stated his peace on Antonio brown joining the team, but now the Bucs general manager has put the final nail in the coffin.
“Yeah, it’s not going to happen,” Arians said on the Tiki and Tierney Show. “There’s no room. It’s just not going to happen. It’s just not a fit here.”
Bucs GM Jason Licht appeared on ESPN’s Get Up! on Monday morning and he was also presented with the question of Bown joining the team at some point.
“We feel like there’s a lot of teams that are struggling to find one really good receiver,” Licht said. “And we have two really outstanding receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Right now, there’s only so much money that can go around. There is no plan to sign any other receiver at this time. Antonio is somebody Bruce has come out and had some words about. Bruce knows him better than all of us. Right now, I’d just say that we’re focused on other areas of our team.”
Brown played in one game for New England last season, but his behavior would get him kicked off the team just days after the Raiders released him for the same thing. He built a special bond with Brady during that time and while he was out of work, but it does not seem like he will ever play with him again.
