The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in need of a quarterback following the retirement of Tom Brady. That QB may come in the form of an ex-teammate of the legendary QB.
Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Bucs plan to “retool while still competing,” with Jimmy Garoppolo as one of the options they like to replace Tom Brady.
Currently, University of Florida product, Kyle Trask, is the only quarterback on the Bucs’ active roster. Blaine Gabbert is set to become a free agent.
Jimmy G is set to become a free agent at the beginning of March, and it seems his time with the 49ers is for sure coming to an end after he shockingly resigned to the team last offseason. Trey Lance was thought of to become the 49ers’ franchise quarterback before suffering a season-ending ankle injury this year. He is expected to step right back into the starter’s role.
Earlier this month, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan reiterated that they are completely comfortable moving forward with Lance and Purdy heading into next season.

The Buccaneers will have a ton of moves to make this off-season and Jimmy G should be one of them. Garoppolo would provide them with a veteran presence under center.
Garoppolo went 7-3 in his 10 starts for the 49ers, completing 67.2% of his passes for 2,437 yards with 16 touchdowns to four interceptions.
