In past years, this is something that would’ve never been questioned.
However, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is having a down year by his standards. Kelce is averaging a career-low 8.5 yards per catch this season, down from 10.6 yards in 2023.
He is also on tap to having his worst output in terms of yards and touchdowns scored in his career.
If Travis Kelce doesn’t play in Week 18, he’ll end the 2024 season with the lowest receiving yards (823) and touchdowns (3) he has ever had in any year of his career.
Will Travis Kelce Take The Field In The Season Finale?
Will Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones, Travis Kelce, DeAndre Hopkins, and other Chiefs stars play in Week 18’s game against the Broncos?
The final game means absolutely nothing to them, as they have already secured home-field advantage and a first-round bye.
The only reason for any of them to play in this game would be to improve on individual stats.
This might be important to Travis Kelce since he had a lot of career lows across the board. However, the team is not going to risk losing him to an unnecessary injury.
