Robert Griffin III was a very relieved man on Wednesday night after a pretty distressing announcement that thankfully led to a positive update.
The former NFL quarterback took to Twitter on Wednesday night to tell his followers that his family’s dog Benny had been missing for five hours after somehow escaping their backyard. It appeared he was pretty stressed out, as any dog owner would be in such a situation.
“Well guys….tonight is looking like one of the worst nights ever,” he wrote also posting multiple photos of the pooch. “Our Dog got out of the back yard and has been gone for 5 hours. Feels like we lost him. Damn.”
The tweet garnered plenty of support and suggestions, while users urged him not to give up.
RG3 would late return to the platform to announce having found Benny after an eight-hour search before posting a video in which he appeared to be very relieved (and sweaty). The ESPN analyst thanked fans for their support and ideas, also revealing how he ended up retrieving the family pet.
The story, which involved a guy in a “kidnapper van” was actually quite heartwarming. Check it out in the video below.

RG3’s followers were as relieved as he was.
All’s well that ends well, as they say. But we imagine Benny’s going to be under strict supervision moving forward.
