This Friday marked a crazy day at ESPN, with multiple on-screen talents getting cut amid Disney’s mass layoffs.
The likes of Jalen Rose, Keyshawn Johnson, Max Kellerman, and Jeff Van Gundy were all shown the door. Another shocking firing came in the form of Suzy Kolber’s termination.
Kolber was one of the most-tenured anchors at ESPN, having joined them as one of the originals in 1993 before leaving for FOX in 1996 and returning in 1999.
In the wake of these surprising cuts, Front Office Sports has predicted that Mina Kimes could replace Kolber on Monday Night Countdown. Kimes is on an expiring deal with the company and is a reported target for Dan Le Batard’s Meadowlark Media, as well as Bill Simmons’ The Ringer.
Should ESPN hand her Monday Night Countdown, they could secure a long-term with the 37-year-old journo as she’s thought to be one of those they never considered touching.

NFL Live host Laura Rutledge has also been named as a possible replacement for Kolber. But, given the fact that it will be harder to replace her on her current show, Kimes seems the best choice.
The aforementioned publication has also predicted that Doris Burk could replace Van Gundy and become the first female analyst to call the NBA Finals in 2024.
