The 59-year-old graduated from the University of Miami in 1986. Kolber went on to work for several local media jobs around the Florida area before landing a position with the Worldwide Leader in Sports in 1993.
Kolber left ESPN in 1996 to work for FOX Sports, where she served as an anchor and NFL reporter. After three years there, Kolber returned to ESPN, where she would spend the next 24 years.
Some of the other notable talents who were let go included longtime NBA color commentator Jeff Van Gundy, Todd McShay, Steve Young, Keyshawn Johnson, former “First Take” co-host Max Kellerman and Jalen Rose. Disney CEO Bob Iger warned back in February that the company would be cutting 7,000 jobs, beginning this summer.
Like Kolber, the released talents have built up special profiles and resumes to the point where they shouldn’t be out of work for long.
