A new betting favorite for Russell Wilson’s new team in 2024 has emerged.
On Wednesday, the Broncos announced that Wilson was being benched for the club’s final two games in favor of backup Jarrett Stidham. It’s believed that the Broncos are doing this for financial reasons, as the club would have to pay Wilson $37 million in guaranteed money for 2025 if he suffers an injury.
It certainly feels like the Broncos are indeed planning to move on from Wilson, less than two years after handing him a $245 million extension over five years. And if Wilson hits the open market, he promises to have several compelling suitors.
Interestingly, the BetOnline sportsbook lists the Minnesota Vikings as the favorites to land Wilson in 2024 at 5/1 odds. They are followed by the New England Patriots (6/1), with the Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders sharing the next best odds at 7/1.
The Vikings’ starting quarterback, Kirk Cousins, is in the final year of his contract and suffered a season-ending Achilles tear back in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers. So Minny must decide if they want to commit to a 36-year-old QB coming off a serious injury, or if they’ll want to move in another direction.

In 15 games this season, Wilson has completed 66.4 percent of pass attempts for 3,070 yards and 26 touchdowns against eight interceptions. Clearly, the nine-time Pro Bowler is still a starting QB in this league.
