How much does a supercomputer know about NFL football? We’ll have a better answer to that question at the end of the 2023 season, after one supercomputer was programed to predict the final records for all 32 NFL teams…
But if I had to give you an answer right now, I’d say these supercomputers better stick to their day jobs, based on the predictions they provided.
The numbers in this supercomputer’s predictions include a decimal point, which already calls them into question. On top of that, they seriously have the Arizona Cardinals finishing the season with 5.8 wins.
Seriously. Six wins. For an Arizona team that many are predicting will go 0-17.
Here’s a look at all of the supercomputer’s picks (via Action Network):
As for the eight division winners, the supercomputer has the Bills taking the AFC East, the Bengals edging out the Browns in the AFC North, the Jags running away with the AFC South, and the Chiefs continuing their dominance in the AFC West.

When it comes to the NFC, the supercomputer is predicting the Eagles to beat out the Cowboys in the East, the Vikings repeating atop the North division, the Saints claiming the South, and the 49ers winning the West once again.
The 2023 NFL season is set to kick off next Thursday, when the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Detroit Lions in the season opener.
