It finally happened.
After 18 years with the Green Bay Packers, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets. In a move that seemed like it was a long time coming after Rodgers declared his intent was to play for the Jets, the deal was ironed out on Monday.
It’s been expected that Rodgers would be traded ever since he said on The Pat McAfee Show on March 15 he intended to play for the Jets next season.
In the meantime, sportsbooks wasted little time sending out new Super Bowl odds.
After Super Bowl 57, the Jets had +2800 odds to win the following season’s title at DraftKings Sportsbook, but after the trade, the Jets have been at +1400 to win Super Bowl 58.

The decision to trade Rodgers comes after he left his status for 2023 open immediately following Green Bay’s season-ending 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions that eliminated them from playoff contention. Rodgers went 17 of 27 for 205 yards with one touchdown in that game that would ultimately be his final one.
If you believe in the Jets with Rodgers under center, then now would be a good time to bet on the Jets Super Bowl odds on all the top sports betting apps.
New York sent this year’s pick No. 13, a 2023 second-round pick (No. 42), a sixth-round pick (No. 207), and a conditional 2024 second-round pick to Green Bay in exchange for Rodgers, the No. 15 pick, and a 2023 fifth-round pick (No. 170), according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The second-round pick becomes a first if Rodgers plays 65% of the snaps this season.
