The Browns are hosting a quarterback workout Friday morning that will include a former Super Bowl MVP.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Cleveland Browns are working out former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco amid the season-ending injury to starting quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The Browns will add a third quarterback to either the practice squad or active roster before they begin preparations next week for the Broncos game. If signed, Flacco would help replace Deshaun Watson, who’s out for the season with a broken glenoid bone in his throwing shoulder.
Flacco spent the bulk of his career with the Baltimore Ravens from 2008-2018 as he helped lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl win over the 49ers in 2013, and was named Most Valuable Player in the victory. He had one of the more memorable runs in the playoffs for a quarterback in recent memory.
He also spent time with the Denver Broncos in 2019.
The 38-year-old veteran spent last season with the New York Jets, appearing in five games with four starts. He completed 110-191 passes for 1,051 yards and five touchdowns for New York.
