Missing the playoffs for the first time in his career, Hill created a wave of backlash with his behavior and comments.
Hill reportedly checked out of the Week 18 game without permission and never returned. He and head coach Mike McDaniel had a difference of opinion about why he was no longer playing.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s comments after the Dolphins’ Week 18 loss to the New York Jets then sparked significant speculation about his future with the team.
“I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro,” Hill said, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.
Hills’ agent Drew Rosenhaus wanted to come clean about everything days later.
Rosenhaus made it clear that his client broke his wrist before the season and was advised by doctors to have wrist surgery in the preseason, which would’ve cost him the season.

Hill wanted to fight through the injury to be there for his team, so he didn’t undergo the surgery advised.
Rosenhaus said Tyreek Hill decided to play for the team’s betterment.
He added that Tyreek is committed to the Miami Dolphins and is no longer seeking his way out.
Dolphins GM Chris Grier Speaks On Tyreek Hill Wanting Out
Tyreek Hill’s stance on continuing to play with the Miami Dolphins appears to have wavered.
Dolphins general manager Chris Grier spoke with media on Tuesday and said that they’d met with Hill this week and made it clear he never asked for a trade.
“But he never asked for a trade with me,” Grier said.
Hill changed his social media avatar to an image of his head imposed over Antonio Brown’s body during Brown’s last NFL game with the Buccaneers.
He has since changed it back to him in a Dolphins uniform.
