Dak Prescott has been making headlines all offseason. Whether it’s an injury or demanding a contract north of $60 million a year, he’s constantly in the news cycle.
Now, though, he’s in it for a different reason. At Cowboys practice on Friday, Prescott was not seen on the field.
Many speculated that it was a contract holdout or because of an injury, but the real reason could be much weirder.
Jane Slater, a reporter for NFL Network, tweeted that Prescott wasn’t absent for either of those reasons. “A source tells me there is nothing to Dak Prescott’s absence at practice,” she wrote in a tweet. “It’s not related to a contract or any type of holdout. Why? Still unclear but also told it’s not injury related and “nothing serious at all.”
Of course, there are many other reasons a player could miss practice, but many find it suspicious that the true reason seems to be kept hidden.

With the regular season just a month away, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to this Dak Prescott saga.
Dak Prescott Looks To Earn Over $70 Million Per Year
When it was rumored that Prescott was looking for a new deal, many speculated that he could be aiming for a contract that earns him at least $60 million a year. That was already a steep number, but new reports have become even more ridiculous.
If that did become a reality, it’s hard to imagine it being with the Cowboys, as he would become the highest-paid quarterback per year in NFL history by almost $15 million. It would certainly reset the quarterback market.
