With all the hype and social media love being shown to longtime Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, you might think the Lions are gearing up for their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Matt Stafford not only has Los Angeles fans cheering for him, but also his old stomping ground as well.
Plenty of Lions fans are still excited for Stafford, as he put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into his 12-year tenure in Detroit. One Michigan retail store is capitalizing on the hype.
C&O Sportswear in Mt. Pleasant is selling “Detroit Rams” shirts ahead of the Super Bowl, complete with Stafford’s No. 9.
Stafford was dealt in a preseason QB swap that saw former LA quarterback Jared Goff land in Detroit. In the Lions’ first year without Stafford, they notched a 3-13-1 record.
He has been everything and more for the franchise that is expected to have a much better showing in this Super Bowl against the Bengals than the franchise had against the Patriots a few years ago.
