Tim Tebow won’t be making a return to professional football anytime soon.
Earlier this week, Steve Spurrier spoke with ProFootballTalk and said that the Alliance of American Football reached out to the Florida Heisman award winner and former NFL quarterback. Even though the AAF was interested in Tebow, the feeling wasn’t quite mutual.
“Tim’s got a chance to go to Major League Baseball. I think Tim’s probably headed in the baseball direction. I don’t blame him. If I were in his situation I’d probably do the same thing,” the Orlando Apollos’ coach said on PFT Live.
The very sight of Tebow in the AAF would’ve been ratings gold for the new league, but Tebow has bigger plans in store for his playing career as he continues to get better in the minor leagues and hopefully one day make it to the MLB.
AAF co-founder Bill Polian also tried to talk Tebow into giving the league a try, but Tebow was focused on Baseball.
He last appeared in an NFL game in 2012.
