If Kellen Moore is going to get a head coaching position this offseason, it won’t be because of what he did during his final moments with Dallas.
The Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator got crushed for his final playcall vs. the 49ers on Sunday night. Trailing by a touchdown and needing a miracle, Moore went crazy with his final formation that had Ezekiel Elliott lined up under center.
All five offensive linemen, meanwhile, lined up out wide on opposite sides of the field. Elliott got bull rushed as Dak Prescott got the ball out quickly and the 49ers defense quickly tackled the receiving target. They never had a chance to get a lateral off, and social media instantly destroyed the Cowboys for their embarrassing attempt.
Carolina Panthers legend Steve Smith Sr. wants nothing to do with Moore if he’s calling plays like that late in games.
“We the Panthers interviewed Kellen Moore for the HC job!” Smith wrote in a Tweet. “Based on the last play for the Cowboys, ain’t no way in hell Moore is coaching us with that trash last play!!!!”

The Panthers had requested an interview with Moore for their head-coaching vacancy, but Steve Smith Sr. will be happy to know that the organization has decided to go in another direction. Earlier today it was announced that Frank Reich would be the new head coach in Carolina. He was fired just this past season by the Indianapolis Colts.
As for Moore, he may have a chance at snagging one of the other head coaching vacancies, but the more realistic scenarios is him returning for another season in Dallas.
The Cowboys saw their season end at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers for a second straight year—mainly as a result of their stagnant offense, which managed just one touchdown and 12 total points in their season-ending loss.
