Carolina Panthers franchise-great Steve Smith has never been been one to hold his tongue about anything. Just last week, he took to Instagram to express his thoughts on Hall-of-Famer Brett Favre’s recent comments regarding the killing of George Floyd.
“I have so much respect for the career you had. HOF, awards, etc…. However on this subject, yo Mr. Favre STFU respectfully real talk! Privilege ass!”
This week, the former player-turned-analyst dropped a newly-released bonus episode of his podcast, Cut To It, to expand on last Thursday’s criticism of the Hall-of-Fame quarterback.
He “knows nothing about being a Black man.”

Following the the guilty conviction of ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin — Favre said he found it hard to believe that Derek Chauvin meant to kill George Floyd.
“I find it hard to believe, and I’m not defending Derek Chauvin in any way — I find it hard to believe, first of all, that he intentionally meant to kill George Floyd,” Favre said.
“That being said, his actions were uncalled for,” he added. “I don’t care what color the person is on the street. I don’t know what led to that video that we saw where his knee is on his neck, but the man had thrown in the towel.”
