Stetson Bennett is still absent from the team after being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list last month.
The Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback, who was expected to be Los Angeles’ backup quarterback this year, missed a golden opportunity to earn playing time and valuable experience last week against the Dallas Cowboys.
Matthew Stafford went down with a thumb injury and did not return for much of the second half. Stafford is considered day-to-day with a UCL thumb sprain.
Following the news of a Matthew Stafford injury, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay had some news regarding Bennett.
McVay told reporters that “I’m not ready to say that he won’t be back with us at all this year, but it’s probably less likely than it is likely he would be,” but that Bennett is “doing well.”
Bennett was taken in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft after a stellar career with Georgia. He led the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships and was a Heisman Trophy finalist last season for Georgia.

With Bennett out, Brett Rypien would possibly replace Stafford in the event he is unable to play on Sunday. The Rams visit the Green Bay Packers.
The Rams are currently 3-5 and in third place in the NFC West.
