When Deebo Samuel’s trade request went public, social media was buzzing after they noticed he liked a photoshopped picture of himself in a Dallas Cowboys jersey. That led to major speculation that Samuel was angling his way to the Dallas Cowboys as his next team.
During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones was asked about the team’s interest in Samuel.
“You obviously keep ur eye on anything and everything that’s going on,” Jones replied. “Things have to fit in and work, but we’re always looking at where we are from a personnel standpoint and where we can get better.”
While he has since “unliked” the Cowboys edit, it definitely seems like his mind could be elsewhere. It’s unclear if a deal for San Francisco’s star wide receiver will actually happen, but until then, speculation as to where he could be traded or how he could get there is sure to continue.
Samuel’s versatility may cause a split if San Francisco doesn’t tone down the wideout’s usage in the run game.
