After offering hot sports takes all day on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith got his chance to show off his cool side when he guest hosted an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that aired on Monday.
His monologue started with him speaking on folks taking horse medicine to combat COVID-19 before he tackled the viral sensation of people doing the Milk Crate Challenge. At one point, he also did his famous ‘stay off the weeeeeed.’
Smith previously told InsideHook that being a late-night host is on his career to-do list.
“I can’t say enough about the job that Arsenio Hall did hosting a late-night show. The job Trevor Noah does on Comedy Central, to be an African American in that position, I think that’s a space that’s needed and it’s a space I could fill one day,” Smith said. “Not right now because I’ve got these obligations, but down the line, in a few years, do I want to host my own late-night television show like Stephen Colbert, Jay Leno, David Letterman and the late great Johnny Carson did? Absolutely. That’s what I really want to do someday, if I can pull it off. If I can’t, I’ll find something else to want. Who knows what the future possibilities hold.”
