Stephen A. Smith and Terrell Owens appear to be entering a new beefing phase following comments the ‘First Take’ host made on ‘The Joe Budden Podcast’.
Smith was a guest on said show this week, where he discussed various topics, including Shannon Sharpe’s departure from FS1, as well as his split with Max Kellerman.
Kellerman was taken off ‘First Take’ in 2021 and was among the many talents laid off by ESPN earlier this year. Speaking on the matter, Stephen A. claimed he simply did not like working with the former rapper and boxing analyst.
“I had mad respect for him from the standpoint of white dude, highly intelligent, Ivy League, educated from Columbia. Smart as a whip. Can talk his A off. Can talk about anything,” Smith told his hosts. “I get all that. But you weren’t an athlete, and you weren’t a journalist. And the absence of the two components left people wondering ‘Why should we listen to you?’”
Fans took to social media to defend Kellerman, with many of them pointing out that Stephen A. was simply bitter over Owens telling him, “Sometimes, Max almost seems blacker than you” during an episode of ‘First Take’ in 2019 while they were discussing Colin Kaepernick.

The former wide receiver reposted a clip of him saying as much to X along with the caption “FACTS!!!!!!!!!”
A clearly incensed Smith reacted to the post with the following:
Now we just can’t wait for Monday, because it appears Stephen A. has threatened to spill some beans and we are here for it.
